Globalizing Rails Wrapup

Posted by Jeremy Voorhis Fri, 14 Apr 2006 03:35:00 GMT

I just gave my presentation titled Globalizing Rails at Canada on Rails – the world’s first Ruby on Rails conference.

For those who may be interested in viewing my slides, I have made them available as a PDF at http://www.jvoorhis.com/media/globalizing-rails.pdf.

Globalize was used in a recent PLANET ARGON development project to provide internationalization services and to localize the app to 18 languages. Learn more about Globalize at globalize-rails.org.

Thanks to Nathan for organizing the conference, DHH for giving me something to talk about, and everyone who contribued to making Canada on Rails a success.

UPDATE

Ryan Davis has kindly made the conference attendee’s shared notes available here.

Great work Jeremy. It’s really exciting to see all of these awesome slideshows! I’ll be working on a post for Ruby on rails blog to discuss the fallout from the conference that I can scrap together :) Feel free to contribute more, your insights are always welcome.

Oops, look like the html wasn’t supported!

Very nice Jeremy. I’m looking forward to using the Globalize plugin in a upcoming project.

A question – in your slide, I notice a table structure dump above the model for the table. I recall reading about a plugin that did this but can’t locate it now.

    Found it:
